Daddy's Girl
Cambrie is DEFINITELY a daddy's girl. Mike was asked to give the opening prayer in church today. We rushed to get to church on time. We barely made it before sacrament meeting started. As the opening song was coming to a close, I started trying to get Rylan to come sit on the other side of me so he wouldn't have a clear shot down the aisle once Mike got up to give the prayer. Mike then passed Cambrie over to me and started walking up to the stand. Within seconds, she just started screaming. I was doing everything I could to try to quiet her - and keep the other kids in check. It was rather embarassing. She didn't want her binkie. All during the prayer - and the reverent silence - you could hear this little baby wailing. People just kept turning around and looking at me. Gavin's friend was across the aisle and was smirking. I got a few polite smiles from other adults. I didn't know what to do. I really couldn't get up and take her out as that would have been worse with the other kids....particularly Rylan. I figured she was hungry so when Mike finished with the prayer and came back down to our bench, I handed Cambrie back to him so I could gather up the diaper bag and go nurse her. Of course, daddy's little girl calmed right down as soon as she was in Mike's arms. I think Mike was quite pleased. It really was amazing! I bet they don't ask us to give prayers again for a very long time! :)
