"Watch and Learn"

Since my back has been out for a week now, the older kids have been great helpers! The other day, I had a little bowl of Gerber baby puffs for Alyssa to feed Cambrie (she loves giving her one at a time - just as instructed!). I went back to my room for awhile. When I came back I noticed Cambrie had some food around the outside of her mouth...obviously not from a dry baby puff. I asked Alyssa what she fed Cambrie and she was quite pleased to announce that she fed her some baby food with a spoon. I didn't see a mess around anywhere. I didn't believe her. I asked her to show me what she had fed Cambrie. She went in the fridge and brought back a little container of plum/apple/grape food and it had probably 1/4 of it left. Alyssa told me she got it from the cupboard opened it herself and everything. I asked her what spoon she used and she showed me. I told her those spoons are kind of hard for Cambrie to use and she informed me that it worked just fine. I was bewildered, in shock, and told Alyssa to show me how she fed Cambrie. She was thrilled to show off her skills. She grabbed a baby spoon, the food, a paper towel and then sat in front of Cambrie (who she had propped up on the floor with a boppy pillow behind her) and she said, "Watch and Learn!" I died laughing. I told Alyssa I do know how to feed babies.....I have had a little practice. She will be a good little mom one day.
