The hated car seat crotch strap :)

I have debated about posting this event/story....however, it is funny and I do want to remember it. Some may find this a bit crude, or offensive - if so, don't read on! Many of you moms know exactly what I am talking about when it comes to the crotch strap in those carseats!

A few weeks ago, Mike was out of town for the weekend. He had asked Gavin to be my big helper. Gavin claimed he would be the "man of the house" while dad was gone. We went to Wal Mart that night. I rarely go there by myself with all of the kids, so this was a big deal! Anyway, the kids were great during our shopping trip (I was pleasantly surprised!). After shopping, I put the groceries in the van and Gavin told me he would help get Rylan buckled up. He hasn't ever done that before. Gavin and Rylan have their carseats in the very back of the van. Anyway, I returned the shopping cart and came around the van to put Cambrie in her carseat. As I was buckling up Cambrie, Gavin was trying to buckle up Rylan. He then said, with much disgust, "Why do we have to dig under his balls?!" I just laughed and laughed and told Gavin he really didn't have to do that, I could buckle Rylan up (afterall, I always do!). Being the thoughtful, super helper that he is, he replied matter-of-factly, "You really shouldn't have to dig under his balls either!"

We learned a valuable lesson....nobody should really ever have to dig under anybody else's balls to buckle a seatbelt!

Kids are awesome! They just say it how it is!
