Father's Day 2008

1. Mike gets up and makes breakfast - delicious pancakes from scratch, eggs, and bacon (in my defense, I offered to make a breakfast casserole the night before and he told me he likes to make breakfast for the family!)
2. Jamie gets up and starts preparing salads and dishes for Henrie Family BBQ after church (at our house). We invited all the Henrie's over to celebrate Father's Day and Suzanne's birthday since Grandma Henrie was gone!
3. Kids fight
4. Gavin takes shower. When he is done he leaves the bathroom door open and goes to his room to get dressed (it is a big NO NO to leave the toilet seat up or/and the bathroom door open at our house - Rylan gets into everything!)
5. Rylan gets into the bathroom
6. Rylan climbs onto stool and finds Gavin's glasses on the counter and BREAKS them
7. Mike and I realize we are probably out of luck with any type of guarantee on his glasses since all Knighton Opticals went out of business recently. :(
8. Everyone a little upset
9. Kids still fighting
10. Trying to get ready for church
11. Alyssa provoking more fights and Gavin feeding right into it and whining
12. Jamie getting angry
13. Late for church- missed sacrament
14. Jamie threatens not to go to church and tells Mike to play the piano in Primary (which he really can't do because he hasn't practiced any primary songs in YEARS)
15. Jamie is really wondering why she is having another kid! :)
    
16. Mike loads up kids into van and starts to leave for church (after all, I said I wasn't going!)
    
17. Jamie irritated and reluctantly gets in van to go with (I really do have to play the piano)
18. Family goes to church - late and irritated!
19. Mike helps cover for teachers that didn't show up in Primary - and sits in primary to also help keep Alyssa behaved (she has turned awful and knows I can't do anything about it while playing the piano!)
20. Church ends up being nice
21. Get home at 2:15.....family set to arrive at 3:00.....house is a DISASTER.....still need to make more food and start the baked beans (which I didn't get started before church)........getting stressed!
22. Yelling at kids to start helping (over and over and over)
23. Irritation has returned
24. Kids fighting
    
25. Family starts to arrive at 3:01 - very prompt....not usual for any of us! :)
26. The rest of the family arrives shortly after 4:00 and Mike grills steaks and chicken - yummy
27. We eat outside - struggling to find shade
28. Kids showing off - which also entails some back talking
29. Gavin sent to his room at least twice
    
30. Enjoy the yummy food and the great visit :)
31. Jack, Allison, and baby Sarah have to leave and head to their new jobs at a scout camp
    
32. Have birthday cake for Suzanne that Tricia made - it was a delicious chocolate cake filled with vanilla pudding (Gavin asked Tricia if she would make it again for his birthday!)
33. Watch Brad take Gavin's bike and ride around the yard with Gavin chasing him screaming for him to stop :)
34. Move table and chairs to the side of the house - need shade!
    
35. Watch Bandit "play" with Tricia and Jared's new dog, Wally
36. Play with Monty
37. Grandpa Henrie opens his Father's Day gift from Grandma Henrie (with kids helping, of course) while Suzanne opens her birthday present from her mom and dad
    
38. Some family leaves
39. Brad and Suzanne stay later to play guitar hero and to watch the kids dance and sing to songs from Enchanted
40. Relax - stress is gone
41. Sciatica acting up - nothing new :)
42. Brad and Suzanne leave (even though the kids wanted them to sleep over!)
    
43. Leave the dishes - don't want to deal with them now
    
44. HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!!
