We brought along our camera this time hoping to get better pictures of Cambrie in the chest x-ray tube; however, this time they didn't put her in the tube. They only had me take her back and had me help her sit up and hold her arms above her head and her head still. The technicians were surprised she was so happy - they were hoping she would actually cry so they could get a nice deep breath during the x-ray! It was hard keeping the squirmy, happy girl still enough to get all the x-rays done, but we managed. I honestly was a little disappointed not to have her in "the tube" again. I wanted more pictures (better quality than a cell phone at least!) - and quite frankly having her in the tube was easier than holding a squirmy child still! (Especially one that can't even sit up yet by herself!)
This time for the EKG, they just kept her in the carseat. She was happy as could be. However, we learned having an EKG done on a 6 month old is much more challenging than on a 2 month old! She kept grabbing the leads and pulling them - with her fingers and with her toes! It was so cute. At one point, Alyssa was holding one hand, the technician holding another hand; I was holding a foot and Mike was holding the other foot. Since she was moving so much and pulling leads off, it took awhile to get a good reading, but eventually we got one.
FYI: The technician did tell me that there are more leads for an infant EKG than for an adult EKG. In fact, she said she was doing a 15 lead EKG on her. I am not sure if that actually means 15 wires were connected to her or not. I remember last time the technician said some leads were double-functioning.
Of course, Cambrie was all smiles during the whole thing! We sure love our happy girl!
Yes, we took Rylan and Alyssa with us. They were sick, so we couldn't leave them with anyone. Mike and I both wanted to be with Cambrie during her tests and since I was doing my x-rays as well, it just had to be a family event. We had no other choice since Cambrie's work had to be done yesterday!
Alyssa had not seen Cambrie's tests done before. I think she was a little nervous for her sister. She went right over and stood next to Cambrie's carseat and held her hand. It was precious!
I asked Rylan to hold Cambrie's shoes....at the end of the EKG, this is what we found. He took off his own shoe and threw it in the hall and was trying to put on Cambrie's shoe. Typical Rylan!
