"I wrote it on accident"

I went into the kids bathroom yesterday and this is what I saw:

The pictures don't do it justice! (You might have to click on the image to bring it to full size so you can really see the signature!) Imagine my surprise when I lifted the toilet seat and saw Alyssa had written her name on the inside. I yelled at her and told her to come into the bathroom. She knew she was busted. :) As soon as she came in, she told me, "I didn't mean to do that. I accidentally wrote my name!" I just laughed and told her we would save it for her dad to see. How do you "accidentally" take a pen into the bathroom and "accidentally" lift up the toilet seat and "accidentally" write your name on the inside? It also slightly grosses me out that she thinks the toilet makes a great art canvas! She is so funny. You can see she needs to work on her letter "s" as she keeps writing it backwards.

We have many different versions of "Alyssa" written all over the house - including on her dresser drawers, on her bookcase, and on her toy baskets. She once tried to tell me that it wasn't her.....Rylan did it. Yeah, my kids are smart, but I don't think the two year old can spell "Alyssa"! She knows Rylan is her partner in crime when it comes to coloring on the walls and things he shouldn't....but seriously.....she needs to think it through a little better when she blames actual words - especially her own name - on him!

Yes, that is funny, and gross. Kids don't really get that toilets are gross! Way to laugh instead of lose your cool!
