It seems like the Christmas season of spending time with family and gift giving continue for weeks after Christmas! On our way home from Idaho, we stopped to see Grandma & Grandpa in Tremonton and they had a pile of gifts for our family. They always go overboard. Of course, the kids love it! Alyssa was thrilled to receive a bracelet and a little dress-up doll in its own trunk....complete with lots of outfits and accessories. Gavin got some cool little plastic men that snap together to build things. Rylan had several presents for Christmas and also for his birthday (we traveled home on his birthday!)He was especially excited about a new wooden train set, wooden blocks and a HUGE bouncy ball. They gave Cambrie some cute outfits and some headbands we really wanted/needed! We also got a cool rainbow maker gadget, a loaf of homemade soap, an awesome quiet book, and a magnetic calendar.
On New Year's day, we had a fun trip down south to visit Grandma and Grandpa Harris and Aunt Janette. Again, they had a bag of gifts waiting for us as well. I felt guilty. They really don't need to get us things - we love just spending time with them! Again, the kids were thrilled to open all of their presents....jewelry, books, trains, etc. They also love playing with cousin Kristin when we are there. She is so patient with them and they all just play and do crafty activities together. We enjoy having the chance to visit with them all and to eat. Like true grandparents - they always have a large spread of food for those who come and visit. Grandparents don't want their family to go hungry!
We also recently had Tricia, Jared, and Sam come over. We had a nice visit with them. They brought us over a new game for Christmas - Pictureka. It looks fun. The kids knew right away what it was - because, of course, they have seen it on tv! :) We are excited to play it. We are starting to really enjoy playing games together. Kathy & Tony got the kids the game Horton Hears a Who - and it is a riot....and we like it because it is fast, fun, and easy for all the kids!
I am still trying to finish making our gift for Jack & Allison - so hopefully we can get that done soon and get it to them....so Christmas doesn't drag on for too much longer! :)
