Rylan turned Two!!

Thankfully he only turned two so it is still easy to get away with celebrating his birthday later :). We traveled home from Idaho on his birthday so that wasn't too fun for him. He didn't know the difference. Gavin and Alyssa knew it was his birthday so we told them we would get Happy Meals at McDonalds (a favorite treat for the kids!) in honor of Rylan's birthday. They thought that was a fun idea.

Later in the week, we did make a cake and have a little celebration. Brad happened to drop by and visit then, so he stayed for the little "party". The cake turned out crappy. I was rather disappointed. We were just doing a basic chocolate cake with sprinkles and Iron Man decorations - but the frosting didn't spread too well! It didn't help that we were just rushing to get it over with and Rylan kept helping himself to the cake! Again, thankfully he is only 2 and doesn't care!

We had taken the kids shopping to help pick out his presents. There were some problems agreeing on the big gift - basically, because I think Gavin was jealous of it. Oh well! In the end, the kids were all excited. They love birthdays. Rylan really, really loves the Happy Birthday Song so he kept singing it. He also really loves sweets....later that night, we caught him sitting on the kitchen counter just digging in the cake - and even eating the big candle. When we caught him, I asked what was in his mouth and he started spitting/drooling out huge chunks of wax. What a fun ending to a belated birthday celebration.
