I've been tagged...

I have been tagged by Jenn, Mary and Shauna - so I am supposed to share 6 things that are unique about me. Anyone who knows me well, knows I have stressed over this!

1. I have a twin brother - and no, we are not identical (I always get asked that)! I am older by one minute. Troy and I have always been pretty close.

2. I have lived in three countries (United States, Canada, and Australia) and seven states (Utah, Missouri, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, California, Idaho)

3. I have a ball python living in MY bedroom. Yep - I had a HUGE lapse of judgment a few years ago and allowed Mike to purchase a baby ball python (to fulfill his one childhood dream - what a sob story). "Monty" lives on top of my dresser next to my bed. I hear him at night pounding his head against the mesh wire top and then thudding against the floor of his cage when he falls. I listen to him slither in the wood chips. I get to see him eat rats. Isn't that just romantic?! Pythons live a LONG time - what the heck was I thinking?!

4. My lowest grade throughout college and graduate school was an A-. Obviously, I live a life of stress. I was a perfectionist with all of my assignments. It was not uncommon for me to study over 12 hours for one test. I didn't have much of a life. My grades were too important - oh well, they got me scholarships so I guess I can't complain.

5. I HATE to drive. I know - that is strange. I have gotten worse over the years as I add more kids to my car. I think at first I was nervous to drive because I had learned to drive in Australia in a small town. I got my license there shortly before we moved back to America (I was 18 and had even renewed my learner's permit). In New Mexico - they just switched my license straight across (who cares if I learned to drive on the opposite side of the road or never in much traffic?!) I guess it also doesn't help that by nature I am an extremely nervous/anxious person. I am a huge worrier. I get tense in traffic. I hate being on the freeway. Mike drives us pretty much everywhere. I am afraid of getting in a wreck - but then again, it certainly does not stop me from being a back-seat driver. Ask Mike - I used to really dig my fingers in his leg - trying to make him slow down. We recently discovered that I should knit while he drives - that way I am focused on something else!

6. I taught myself to knit using You Tube tutorials. My mom and my cousin Kathy helped me get started but I did turn to classes on You Tube to figure a ton of stuff out and to learn some new techniques. I would watch a clip then pause it and try the techniques and watch it again. Who needs community classes when you have the Internet?! (and of course, it saves me from driving somewhere by myself or attending a class alone - another thing I do not do!) My first knitting project was a baby sweater. I have now knit 8 baby sweaters (just finished one for Cambrie last night), a poncho, and several beanies.

There.....I finally published my list (actually, Mike published it while I was still wondering if it was ok). I now tag Kathy (since she hasn't done it yet either), Mike, Kristol, Melanie, and anyone else that wants to do it on their blog. It is kind of fun!
